Billing and Payment Information
Spring charges were available on or around November 21 in WVU MyAccount (via the WVU Portal) for students who had registered for spring classes. Parents with Authorized User access to billing information can view charges via the WVU MyAccount Login website. Spring Charges (and any prior unpaid balances)
Students who owed a balance after January 2 were assessed a 2.85% late payment fee if they had not done one or more of the following to cover their full balance:
- Paid their charges in full.
- Enrolled in a tuition payment plan.
- Set up a third-party sponsor contract with the WVU Hub.
- Covered their balance with financial aid.
Please note that students who have financial aid reflecting as authorized aid in WVU MyAccount that is sufficient to cover their balance but has not arrived in their accounts by January 2, will not be charged a late payment fee.
Fall Charges (and any prior unpaid balances)
Students who owe a balance after August 2 will be assessed a 2.85% late payment fee if they have not done one or more of the following to cover their full balance:
- Paid their charges in full.
- Enrolled in a tuition payment plan.
- Set up a third-party sponsor contract with the WVU Hub.
- Covered their balance with financial aid.
Please note that students who have financial aid reflecting as authorized aid in WVU MyAccount that is sufficient to cover their balance but has not arrived in their accounts by August 1, will not be charged a late payment fee.
They will then be sent an updated billing notification outlining charges due February 1. Students have ample notice to pay their charges before late fees are assessed. The WVU Hub sends reminders to ensure students are aware of their payment responsibilities.
Missing the January 2 Deadline
Students who owed a balance after January 2 were assessed a 2.85% late payment fee. They will be sent an updated billing notification outlining charges due February 1. Students class registration, housing plan, and dining plan will not be affected unless they do not pay their balance due or sign up for a payment plan by February 1. This gives students four weeks after the January late fee is assessed to work with the University on payment options.
Missing the August 1 Deadline
Students who owe a balance after August 1 will be assessed a 2.85% late payment fee. They will be sent an updated billing notification outlining charges due September 1. Students class registration, housing plan, and dining plan will not be affected unless they do not pay their balance due or sign up for a payment plan by September 1. This gives students four weeks after the August late fee is assessed to work with the University on payment options.
Removal for Non-Payment
Students who owe a balance after February 1 are at risk of being removed from classes and assessed a 2.85% late payment fee, plus a $250 reinstatement fee, if they have not done one or more of the following to cover their full balance:
- Paid their charges in full.
- Enrolled in a tuition payment plan to cover their balance.
- Set up a third-party sponsor contract with the WVU Hub.
- Covered their balance with financial aid.
Please note that students who have financial aid reflecting as authorized aid in WVU MyAccount that is sufficient to cover their balance but has not arrived in their accounts by the February 1 deadline, will not be charged a February late payment fee.
Students who have a balance due after the February 1 payment deadline and are removed from classes due to non-payment will have until February 6 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern to pay their balance in full, plus a $250 reinstatement fee, to be reinstated to their classes.
Missing the February 1 Deadline
Student who are dropped from classes due to an outstanding balance will still be able to use their meal plan to eat in dining halls through the reinstatement period. University Housing will work closely with affected students in residence halls on next steps.
Missing the September 1 Deadline
When students are removed from classes due to an outstanding balance, those with meal plans will still be able to eat in dining halls through the reinstatement period. University Housing will work closely with affected students in residence halls on next steps.
