Yellow Ribbon Waiver

Application Process

Post-9/11 GI Bill-eligible individuals (or their qualified survivor or dependent) may be eligible for tuition assistance through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students must be undergraduate non-residents of West Virginia who are 100% benefits-eligible as determined by the Veterans Administration.

Non-resident students eligible for in-state tuition rates under the Choice Act (section 702) or the Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016 (section 417) are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Tuition assistance is provided through a combination of Post-9/11 Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Programs. A portion of the tuition assistance may be in the form of a Yellow Ribbon Waiver.

Students cannot receive waivers for more than eight undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelors degree, whichever comes first.
